I had a lovely night out last night with my friends, great food and great company. Got a bag full of err... emm... goodies some of which were from Ann Summers so I wont go into too many details I will just say that brushing my teeth and drinking from a straw will never quite feel the same again!
My friend D stayed over so we had brekkie and a natter before she headed home and before the snow came on too heavy. I had a few lessons this afternoon which was fun, the worried little faces as they came out in blizzard conditions to go driving. The roads were clear enough so it was grand. Couple of text messages from H who arrived safely and had just had the first half of her ski lesson and appeared to be suffering from sore feet oh and another text to tell me her purple bra had broke! Glad she seems to be having fun.
Just had a really funny thing happen with my daughter L. I paid a visit to Yorkshire last December to visit my friend J and after being very impressed with his remote control plugs which he used for his light I bought myself a set to bring home. I have one plug connected to my TV and light in my bedroom and another to the light in the hall. About two weeks ago I was having a bit of fun and started to flick the light in the hall on and off each time on of the kids walked past it. Eventually L got curious as to what was triggering it and asked me about the odd looking plug. I told her it was a timer but I wasn't quite sure how it worked, I said it might be sound operated or on a motion sensor. You have no idea how hard it was for me not to laugh out loud when L then started to stamp her foot and shout at the plug. She started to mutter that it wasn't working and I suggested she just say 'on' and 'off' so she is standing shouting ON, ON, OOOOONNNNN, I pressed the on button, she looks very pleased with herself. So she starts shouting OFF...OFF...OFF! Then when she starts to complain that it isn't working again I turned it off. She tried the ON again and was down on all fours yelling at it at one stage. I was sitting on my bed absolutely wetting myself but unable to laugh out. She eventually got fed up and left it only to return about an hour later and have another go.
So I have gone on just using the remote normally, flicking the light on and off when needed until tonight when Lyn appeared with her flashy techno Ipod to show me some little funny programme she has on it where you ask it a question then flip the ipod up or shake it and then look at the screen and it gives you an answer. I couldn't help it, I asked. Are we going to have a power cut anytime soon. Lyn said, 'Well that is a bit of a random question.' She fliped it up and showed me the answer, it said 'Give pizza chants' I laughed, she said she didn't really get it and then I flicked off my TV and light. The look on her face was a picture, I then knocked off the hall light. You could have knocked her over with a feather. 'OMG MUM! Are you psychic or something?' I said, 'Here let me ask that thing another question, will the power come back on soon?' Click... click... power up! 'Noooo way!' She said. Then the penny slowly began to drop and she asked if I was controlling the light remotely. So she launched herself at me and started to have a look and realised I had a little remote controller. Omg we laughed so much and she went into a wrinkle when she remembered the night she was shouting at the plug!
Fun fun!
