Karma?

02.02.09 – 12:01

Well what a fun morning this has been. My dog Jess took a really funny turn last night just as my daughter L and I were going to bed, she (Jess) was kinda skitting about all over the place as if there was something biting her or giving her electric shocks, she jumped onto my bed twice which is something she NEVER does, she knows my bed is a no go area. Infact the second time she did it she jumped on it spun around in a complete circle, lay down and then when I shouted at her to get down she leapt across the bed, across me, across the laptop! Like a dog possessed!

(OMG! Phonecall about a photography job! Going for an interview tomorrow! Bloody hell! What a difference a day makes.)

So anyways, after a whole lot more weird behaviour last night we eventually got her inside and settled for the night. I was up with H this morning for a while and Jess had apparently taken a dash for one of the beds upstairs and then was put outside. An appointment for the vets was promptly made, the vet noted that Jess’s eyes were not dilating as they should, she had a temperature and her eyes just seemed very red. She took a blood sample just to check all her function levels and also to see if anything else odd turned up in it. So she was given an antibiotic injection and an anti-inflammatory in case she had any swelling around her brain. I gave her a diazepam tablet when we got home to help her relax and she had been just lying in the same spot for about 2 hours until she decided to go for a wander and has now settled on the floor at the bottom of my bed. She did attempt again to get on top of it. Ok, ok so call me a big softie, she is now on top of my bed! YES you heard correctly on top, mind you she is on a big old quilt cover on top! She just wants to be near someone and the alternative was sit cuddling her on my knee which got a little bit sore after a while. So she seems content to sleep.

Vet rang and blood tests are normal which is good news and bad news, great that normal results are showing but we still don’t really know what is causing her to be like this so as long as she doesn’t get any worse I am to just leave well alone but the vet wants to see her in the morning and will keep her in for observations if she feels it is necessary.

*sigh*

Oh yeah the photography thing, he wants me to call tomorrow at 2pm to discuss things further and bring my portfolio. Woo hoo!

 It might not pay well but I would be gaining experience.

Anyways, will see how it goes, need to get photos prepared.

Ash called on her way home from work with lovely flowers and a beautiful necklace so we sat on the bed with Jess and chatted for a little while and then Lynn called with a pressie and card. Fabby voucher for some pampering! We then headed to Mum and Dads for dinner and prawn cocktail starter, it was like Crimmy all over again only I was the only one getting the pressies. Mums amazing steak, chips, onion rings, battered mushroom and pepper sauce dinner was just lovely and was followed with birthday cake. I was stunned with my pressies and cried when I got my teddy and read his birth certificate to say it had been stuffed with love and hugs by my kids!

On the way home it started to snow. I have had a lovely day. I just wish Jess was well again. Perhaps me typing, ‘Life begins when the kids move out and the dog dies’ was Karma biting me on the arse! I think I would be happy for life to just be the same for me a healthy dog and never any loo roll or food in the cupboards!

Karma! Pah!
