Granda...

... where you alive when horses were cars?

My little queen of the one liners is well and truly home! Dinner time at my parents house is rarely quiet and never without plenty of laughs. Last week it was odd because we were one body down, H was away so it was nice to be back to 'normal' this week.

Dad was in odd form tonight, off his food. He tends to get a bit morbid when he isn't feeling well and announced that he was going to remove the unit from a room downstairs and buy a nice little bed and then die in there! I said, now just because you don't feel well and are off your food doesn't mean you are going to die anytime soon. As quick as a wink H pipes up, 'Well now, you never know!' Some comfort she is!

We laugh as most families probably shouldn't laugh but then laughing at death and dying has always been Dads way. Through his hospital treatment for his heart attack, bypass surgery and aneurysm operation his humour shone through and I believe pulled him through. I just hope we all can maintain this same level humour to deal with it when we need to. Anyways, life is for living and today was for a family to get together and enjoy each others company, fun and love. That's what we did and that's what we will do for as long as we can and when families change our love will stay strong. I am immensely proud of my children and immensely privileged to have such amazing parents.
