... Mum left dad this morning at 7am. It wasn't totally unexpected but hey what can you say at a time like this except, live it up man she will be home again on Monday! :)
She has gone for a few nights over to London to visit her granddaughter who is a University there. I was over with Dad this afternoon to keep him company and she rang, they were in Camden and were having a good time so far.
Dad was kinda half watching the footy match and half quizzing me about work, kids, my absent fridge and stuff and then he moved on to talk about his family and when he was little. Stories I have heard over and over but somehow I forget them until the very minute he starts to tell it. I love to hear about his life as a child, his memories of his Mother and growing up. I so wished that I had a voice recorder and then realised I was sitting with my laptop so I opened a word document and started to type. Some parts kinda jump from story to story but it would be nice to have some record of his life. Some day I might read it and be glad I took the time to sit with him that Saturday afternoon. I was typing like fury to try to keep up with him so he kept the flow of words going, my fingers were on fire by the time we finished.
The girls are going over for dinner and one of them will stay tonight and the other tomorrow night. Not sure if he really wants them to or not, he says not and then earlier he asked me what time they would be over. So I think secretly he does want someone to be paddling about the house.
Heading to A's house soon for food and wine! Yum! The girls have just had a bit of a back combing session and wanted to do mine before I went out. Not a chance! So then they thought it would be cool to get photos of themselves with their big hair and odd sunglasses. Strange children!
